‘Batman: Arkham Knight’: 1989 DLC Release Trailer Teases Future DLC

Rocksteady and Warner Bros have released a new trailer to commemorate the launch of the 1989 Batmobile/Outfit and Bat-Family Skin DLC packs for "Batman" Arkham Knight." In addition to recapping the events of the game's campaign and showing off the new DLC additions, the trailer also hints at future DLC to come, including yet another film-based Batmobile skin, new AR missions for Batman and his allies, a new outfit for Batman and new story content.

The trailer itself shows off some highlights from the game's main campaign (though it does contain some minor spoilers, so stay clear if you haven't played the game yet) as well as an overview of the new outfit, race tracks and Batmobile skin included in the 1989 DLC pack. The trailer ends with a brief tease of another iconic Batmobile design: the Tumbler Batmobile from Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

According to the trailer's YouTube description, the Tumbler DLC pack (which also includes two new race tracks) is one of several new DLC packs Rocksteady plans to release in September. Next month will also see the release of Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #1 (implying there will be more in the future), which comes with new AR missions for Batman, Robin, Catwoman and Nightwing (including the Robin AR mission that was shown off in the most recent Arkham Insider episode).

For those dying to see more story content, a new story-based DLC campaign called GCPD Lockdown will be released later in September. This new story DLC will take place after the events of the main story campaign and will have players controlling Nightwing as he works to prevent Penguin from escaping GCPD lockup. Finally, a new outfit for Batman based off his original "Arkham Asylum" look will round out the DLC offerings for September.

The 1989 and Bat-Family Skin DLC packs are available now for free to season pass owners and for $1.99 apiece for all other players.
