So if you're looking for Apple AirPods Pro alternatives or just a nice-sounding set of earbuds. The Soundcore Liberty 3 pro just might be what you're looking for.

The Soundcoore Liberty Pro 3 have been praised by many reviewers since day one. And do you know why… well, in my opinion? I think it comes down to Soundcore's attention to little details in areas on which the AirPods don't really focus.

Here's what I mean. The Liberty Pro's have earbuds have dual armature drivers. Soundcore calls it the Atria coaxial acoustic architecture. This includes a Knowles balanced armature that handles the treble, and the larger 10.6mm driver takes the rest. Most earbuds have a single driver unit handling high, mids and low frequencies.

Which, in theory, results in better fidelity and sound separation. And to maximise the hardware, potential Soundcore has added the LDAC codec, which is designed to deliver good HiRes audio up to 24bit 192Khz when paired with compatible devices.

I've tested so many ANC earbuds now that I've lost count. But if I had to place these based on my ANC experience. I'd say the ANC is maybe not as god-tier as some of the more expensive earbuds I've tested, but definitely in line with & a worthy competitor to the AirPods Pro.

But do you know something ANC is pointless if you don't get a good seal & The fit in your ear? This is an area where Soundcore clearly overdeliver. Because You've got a selection of 4 sizes of silicon tips & 4 different shaped wing tips. One is specifically for sports, and these buds have an IPX 4 rating making them splashproof & ideal for the gym.

But check this out within the App. There is some software to ensure you get the right fit. In my opinion, this is the first thing you should do, followed by the Hear ID test, then the Hear ID ANC test.

Because once you've done all three of these, the buds will be calibrated precisely for you & at that point, you will be getting the best that the Liberty 3 pros offer.

What I love the most about this process is how the App will set up a specific custom Hear ID EQ tailored to each ear individually.

I did think this could be a bit of a gimmick at first, but then I tried it, and the results were surprising.

So listen, here's what I think of the sound quality.

Whenever I test earbuds, I write down my impressions' bullet points. Here's what I wrote immediately after setting these up the first time.

And after a long time testing the Liberty Pro 3's. I still feel that those bullet points accurately describe the sound quality. But do know what takes the sound up another notch. It's the fact that Soundcore has managed to get 30 different Grammy award-winning producers to dial in EQs and pre-install them on the App.

I tested them all, and I find the Riley Mackins EQ to be my favourite…but do you know what's even better than that…my ones… Only joking. But you can dial in custom EQs to your taste using an 8-band equaliser. I spent a long time dialling these in, so feel free to pause and test my EQs. See what you think.

Again, these kinds of details and customisation features separate the Soundcores from the Air Pods pro, for example. Yes, AirPods are purpose-built for iPhone, which is excellent, but the Soundcore Liberty 3 pro are built for high-quality audio from various devices. They even support multipoint pairing, so you can simultaneously pair your phone and your laptop. And a little feature that I don't get with many earbuds.

So let's talk about power because earbuds don't run on water…yet. Each earbud has up to 8hrs playback with an additional 24hrs in the case. A 15-minute charge can give up to three hours of playback & they do support wireless, so how about that! So that's a pretty powerful case.

And check this out. You got LED lights under the sliding hood… so they got some style & the quote slim and low profile… just like I was before the national lockdown.

And the buds themselves offer some bling giving them a premium look. And although you can't see it, there are capacitive touch controls built in,

This means there are no physical clicky buttons…and these touch sensors recognise single, double and triple taps and long push inputs and can be re-mapped in the App.

And I've Soundcore being referred to as the OnePlus of earbuds. In the sense that when OnePlus first launched, they offered flagship specs and quality at lower prices, and you know what. I have to agree. It seems like Soundcore has listened & paid attention to the details in all areas when making an excellent earbud.
