Best iPhone Apps 2022 - Top 10 FREE
So here are my top 10 free IOS apps to test out in 2022 on your Apple devices. If you're an Android user, don't worry, 6 of the 10 apps can be found on the Google Playstore & I am working on a dedicated android video for you guys soon. Anyway, let's go.
1. Polycam
So might not know this, but your iPhone has an advanced light detection and ranging sensor on it. Commonly known as LiDAR.
Using Polycam, you scan and 3D map your surroundings with incredible accuracy using just your iPhone. These scans will be dimensionally correct, and you can even export the data into professional formats to work on them on a computer or even print them in 3D.
Or you could just scan your living room or something and send a 3D render to your mates. Here's what my YT desk looks like.
2. ColourWidgets
So this is an excellent app for customising the look and feel of your iOS devices. Colour widgets will allow you to create your own widgets and icons if you want. There are some nice ready-made ones there as well.
Here's what I created. It's a widget with some of my social media turned into QR codes. So next time someone asks me what's your YT channel. I can just say, "here, scan the code", and it will take you there. And if you wanted to be really cheap, you could set up an auto-subscribe link.
3. Vellum
Now I get a lot of requests to share wallpapers in the comments. Most of the time, I use Pinterest or Zedge. But this app called Vellum may be the most artistic and high-quality wallpaper apps I've ever seen.
Vellum is full of beautiful wallpapers shot by professional photographers with excellent skills. Definitely take a look at this one in 2022.
4. Pixel Cut (IOS & ANDROID)
So if you like to use a bit of social media and want to put yourself in the Picture. Or maybe make some funny memes. Pixel cut in a couple of clicks can cut out a subject from the background and allow you to create layers behind it from other images you have on your device.
The ease of use is fantastic. There is a per day usage on it on the free version. One image a day is reasonable enough. The results you get from this are fantastic. So get pixel cut and test it out, make some memes.
5. FaceAp (IOS & ANDROID)
So this is not new. I've really only added this in here for the people that missed it the first time around when it went viral. It's FaceAp I accidentally rediscovered this one whilst researching this video, and it had me in stitches. So if you or someone you know need a laugh. Load up FaceAp snap a picture of yourself or someone else. Change up your face a bit & trust me, this one will make you smile.
If you've never tried this app, or even if you have. It's worth a revisit. It's just so funny, and it could make someone's day.
And you know what would make my day. A thumbs up and a subscribe.
6. Camo webcam (IOS & ANDROID)
So if you're working from home a lot more these days and your computers webcam sucks. Then the Camo app is gonna help you up web camera game. It is free, but you will need to install the Camo software on your computer for it to run.
The upsides of this are. You'll be able to set up a much more flattering angle with your phone. So people are staring up your nostrils during your online meetings. Also, the difference in camera quality is going significant. This could also be a game game-changer for live streamers. Check out the camo app... it's free. You may need to get yourself a cheap smartphone tripod or something, though.
7. Auto paste Keyboard (IOS & ANDROID)
Now I'm not trying to encourage spamming in comment sections, but if you want to test this app out on this video's comments, feel free to spam some fire emojis.
This app, Autopaste keyboard, is a handy tool that allows you to set up and save your most used phrases. So that you don't have to type them out every single time.
And let's say you want to really get your message across. You can hold your finger down, and it will copy and paste continuously until you take your finger off. Some people may call it spamming. Others may call it art. I call it the art of spamming...but really, guys. Use this one sensibly, and you can save your precious time... it is valuable. Always remember, Nobody can give you your time back.
8. Colorfy (IOS & ANDROID)
Have you ever struggled to sleep at night because your mind is racing, or do you ever just need to zone out for a little bit & take your mind off of things? Well, an excellent way to do this is to occupy your mind with something else…like a colouring book.
Colourful is an excellent app for IOS. What is even better is you have the Apple Pencil. You can choose from a selection of free templates to colour in. Like this Picasso. Which is an accurate depiction of my reaction to the new Spider-Man no way home movie.
This is a good one to test out.
9. Picture this plant identifier (IOS & ANDROID)
Have you ever bought a houseplant, and then someone's asked you, "Hey, what plant is that?" For example, let's say this succulent… I mean, I know it's a succulent…but what is actually called? I don't know….nobody knows. Alright, maybe some of you do.
But check this app out. It's called PictureThis plant identifier. This app can recognise over 1,000,000 types of plants. It will tell you their real names, how often they should be watered, where they should be located. For example, in the shade, near a window etc.
Do you know how many plants I've had to throw away because I had no idea what I was doing… it's a lot & I would tell you their names and why they died but honestly, I've got no idea.
But now that I have this app, I look after my plants better & select new plants more wisely. And if you don't care about plants at all. I'd say there's a good chance you're going to like this next app.
10. Eclipses Emulator (IOS & ANDROID)
This one is off the books because it's actually on the AppStore. In fact, this app won't actually exist on your device at all. It's a web-based emulator called eclipse & it's truly awesome.
Some of you watching this video might be old enough to remember the Nintendo Gameboy, the Gameboy colour, Gameboy advanced and Super Nintendo.
With Eclipse you can turn your IOS device into all of them. Here is how.
Open Safari, Navigate to this webpage, save it to your home screen. You'll now have an App Icon called Eclipse. Open this up, and the virtual games console boots up & it's ready to go.
You will need to source the Roms, which are the game files yourself, and then point Eclipse to them. An excellent website to get these from is RomsGames.net. Once you've done this, you can now catch up on all those old pokemon and super Mario & legend of Zelda games you missed back in the day.
And don't forget, you can do it for free…but if you want to support the creators of Eclipse, you can donate to them within the app...and on that note. If you got some value out of this, and you'd like to buy me a beer, Check out the description on this video. I'd settle for a like and subscribe.
I appreciate you guys for watching this one. Turn on your notifications for my Top PAID IOS apps video. See you at the next one don't be late.
